Bible Thumping Donald Rumsfeld

For those who think Bin Laden calling Bush a crusader is just jihadi hyperbole, think again. Rumsfeld regularly used verses from the Bible in his intelligence reports to Bush. Above is an image of one example. GQ magazine has a slide show of several such reports here: http://men.style.com/gq/features/topsecret. This is what the leader of the only superpower, where the separation of church and state is enshrined in the constitution, was reading every morning.

Amazing, Abu Kareem. I cannot imagine how this went on for so long. Ok, so there were only a handful of people receiving these briefings, but you would think it bothered at least one of them that this war was being coached in religious terms, completely blurring the lines between personal beliefs and the country's political agenda.

And even if Rumsfeld and his retinue didnt see anything wrong with peppering their briefs with biblical quotes, its mind-boggling how they thought those quotes actually gave them the directions to do what they did.
